"My husband and I lived in the Baileyton, Tennessee area for about 5.5 years, and
decided to put our homes (yes, we had two homes) up for sale. My husband knew Mike, so we decided to give him and Laura call. It wasn't long after our conversation with the McNeese's that we put our second house -the newest- one up on the market first. All I can say is Mike and Laura worked very, very hard in trying to sell our home! We knew that selling our house could have been a challenge, just because the distance it was from the Greeneville City limits; however, Mike & Laura proved us wrong. With their help we recently purchased property on Kelly Gap Road. We had been looking throughout Eastern Tennessee for well more than two years and I believe about one year ago we contacted Mike (via his web site) and started working with Mike and Laura in Greene and Hawkins Counties. We made many trips in the past year, staying about a week each time. By the second visit Mike really understood what we were seeking. Unfortunately, nothing we were showed was absolutely right - - until!
Without Mike and Laura's very competent assistance we would never have found the 29 acres on Kelly Gap Road that we purchased. It was listed for sale at a price that was far too high for only 29 acres and we would never have considered it had not Mike told us that he had heard that the property could be purchased for far less than the asking price. We were so lucky that Mike has contacts throughout the area!
We looked at the property extensively. Really liking what we saw we submitted a low offer that was, not surprisingly, not accepted. However, over the ensuing weeks, Mike negotiated a price that we could accept: 60% of the listed asking price.
Although it is unlikely that we now know anyone that might need a Greene County Realtor, after we move there this summer or fall we will undoubtedly become acquainted with many people who will have need of an area Realtor.
